Adam Cetorelli

Adam’s primary research interests involve contemporary pop-culture representations of queer identity, attraction, and presentation. Over the course of his time at GW, where he elected to do the Combined BA/MA program in American Studies, Adam has researched the recent explosion of drag into mainstream pop culture, science-fiction representations of anxiety during the Cold War era, and the history of gender identification of US queer men. His current project seeks to excavate narratives of difference as a source of sexual attraction between queer men during our current moment of understanding “homosexual” as primarily focused on the “homo”—sameness.
