Monday, November 5

Pioneering guitarist June Millington co-founded Fanny, the first all-female rock band to release an album on a major label (1970's Fanny, on Reprise). In addition to playing lead guitar in Fanny, the Philippines-born musician has collaborated with Holly Near and Cris Williamson, released solo albums, and co-funded the Institute for Musical Arts, which supports women and girls in popular music. She spoke about her life and work with Prof. Gayle Wald on Monday, November 5.  When confronted with sexism and racism, she said, "I turned it up to 11.  I let that be my own voice."  Special thanks to her for joining us.
