Kimberly Probolus, a Ph.D student here in at the American Studies Department, submitted a letter to the New York Times editors calling on them diversfy their selection of letters to include a larger number of women. The editors responded positively to Probolus' critisicm and ensured readers that this has become a goal of the sections.
