Minor in American Studies

To complete a minor in American Studies, students must take 18 credit hours of course work in the department, including:

American Studies Survey Sequence - AMST 2010 and AMST 2011 (formerly AMST 101 and AMST 102) — 6 credit hours

Any Four Additional Courses in American Studies at the 2000 or 3000 level — 12 credit hours.

 

Meet the Director of Undergraduate Studies

Dr. Elisabeth Anker's research and teaching interests are at the intersection of political theory, critical theory, cultural analysis and media studies. Her book Orgies of Feeling: Melodramatic Politics and the Pursuit of Freedom (Duke, 2014) examines the role of melodrama in US politics.
