Part American Studies, part psychology and even a touch biology, The Nature and Culture of Children challenged a small group of sophomores to dive into the latest research on childhood developmental theory. The popular class featured Associate Professor Jamie Cohen-Cole’s latest theories, as well as student-chosen research topics such as the impact of divorce on children and comparisons of high schools in urban and rural settings. “This class never failed to blow my mind,” said Evelyn Arredondo Ramirez (BA ’20). “I always left knowing more than when I walked in.”
